Brief Synopsis:
Traditionally nomadic shepherds, the Aromanian, or Vlach people are an ethnic group with a Latin-based language who can be found in different parts of the Balkans. CÁIMÒ, meaning ‘BITTER REGRET’, follows one of the few remaining Aromanian families still living in a village in eastern Macedonia. In an observational and poetic style the documentary depicts the everyday routines, dysfunctions, poverty, music and ambivalent attachment to the past of a ruptured family struggling to maintain its identity in a world that has no use for its traditional values.
