In the past 13 years, Asterfest as a film festival dedicated to short films, has fully confirmed its social and above all cultural justification. Namely, this festival emphasizes the true value of the short film form as a specific film language, as a film sublimate of a compact narrative structure, an explosion of aesthetic expressiveness and, above all, a direct and clear message that is unequivocally aimed at the viewer. With the support of AsterFest, we want to contribute to even greater affirmation of short film forms, as equivalent relevant film works, in relation to full length films.

The first festival evening continued with the block of six animated and six dance films.

The awards will be decided by an international jury comprised of film authors: Natalja Althauser from Germany, Elena Melloncelli from Italy and Srdjan Fink from the Netherlands.

The festival is supported by the Municipality of Strumica and the Macedonian Film Agency.
