“Lazar” and “The Liberation of Skopje” Awarded in Mostar

Macedonian films “Lazar” by Svetozar Ristovski produced by Small Moves and “The Liberation of Skopje” directed by Rade Sherbedzija and produced by “Partisans production” were awarded at the last edition of Mostar Film Festival.

Young Macedonian actress Natasha Petrovikj won the award for best  supporting actres for her role of Katerina in the film “Lazar”. The jury stated that her poetic and spontaneous acting has attributed to the sincerity and  believable portrayal of the character on the big screen. 

The film “Lazar” won a second prize for best male supporting role, which went to actor Goran Navojec.

The leading male character in the film “The Liberation of Skopje”, played by David Todosovski, was awarded with Best debut actor for his believable interpretation and his successful performance of the demanding acting techniques.

The director Rade Sherbedzija was awarded with a Special mention for the creation of a film that overcomes time and preserves the memories of one extraordinary artistic theatrical work therefore saving it from oblivion.

The films “Lazar” and “The Liberation of Skopje” were financially supported by Macedonian Film Agency.
