Macedonia Presented At The Cottbus Film Festival And Co-production Market
Macedonia is among the 12 countries with projects to be pitched at the 2012 Connecting Cottbus co-production Market, taking place 8-9 November in Germany, a platform for filmmakers looking to find co-producers for completion of their projects.
Vladimir Blazevski’s latest project “Freedom or Death” is one of the 13 projects selected from 83 entries from 29 countries to be presented to the audience of 150 producers, financiers and funds. The projects will be competing for the coco Best Pitch Award, voted on by all the participants, and the coco Post Pitch Award with 25,000 Euros in goods and services selected by a jury of three film professionals.
Macedonian Film Fund CEO, Darko Basheski, will also take part in a closed workshop discussing Eurimages distribution support programme in Turkey, Russia, Georgia and Macedonia, focusing on alternative support strategies including digital film distribution.
The Market coincides with the Cottbus Film Festival, a showcase of Eastern-European cinema, with Macedonian actress Ana Stojanovska playing the main role in Bulgarian filmmaker Kristina Nikolova’s debut film “Faith, Love and Whiskey”, to be screened in the Spectrum section.
