Macedonia at Cannes 2011
This year was the second time Macedonia had its own stand on the Cannes Film Market within the South East European Pavilion – together with seven other countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Serbia, Slovenia and Montenegro. The pavilion was located at the Village International Riviera, by the seacoast in a 100 m2 premise and a terrace of the same size.
Each day from 5:00 – 6:00 P.M, in the period from May 12th – 20th, the South East European Pavilion held Happy Hour, which was frequented by famous names of the film industry who showed a great interest. The Macedonian Happy hour took place on May 15th.
The advertising material for presenting Macedonia and Macedonian cinematography, such as Macedonian movies’ catalog, was presented to the directors and selectors of festivals, interested sales’ agents and distributors, while the promotional postcards entitled: Welcome in Macedonia: 220 Sunny days for filming in Macedonia, caused a big interest shown by the producers interested in filming in Macedonia.
The following films were screened at the Marché du Film (Film Market):

- "Skopje Remixed" an omnibus of nine short films by nine young directors (15.05.2011 at 09:30 PalaisB)
Producers on the move (organized by the European Film Promotion) May 14 - 17
- Darko Popov was representative from Macedonia
As a part of this project, several round tables were organized, where the producers presented their new projects, and also a lunch was organized, attended by over 150 European producers which have participated in this workshop in the past.
