Macedonia to Host 148th Eurimages Board of Directors Meeting
The Republic of Macedonia and the City of Skopje will be the hosts of the 148th Eurimages - Board of Directors meeting, which will run 16-20 October, 2017 in organization of the Macedonian Film Agency.
Eurimages is the Council of Europe fund for the co - production, distribution, exhibition and digitization of European cinematographic works. The aim of Eurimages is to promote the European film industry by encouraging the production and distribution of films and fostering co-operation between professionals.
60 participants from different countries will join the even, with daily activities taking place in the following 6 days. Within the planned activities, the Macedonian Film Agency and Eurimages hosted a panel discussion: Gender Equality Outreach Meeting – Women Filmmakers- What has changed over the last 15 years. The discussion took place yesterday (October 16,2017) in Hotel Holiday Inn (Skala Hall), at 7 pm and was opened by Enrico Venucci, Deputy Executive Director of Eurimages and the Macedonian Film Agency director, Mr. Gorjan Tozija.
The discussion was moderated by Mimi Gjorgoska Ilievska, Macedonian representative in Eurimages, with the following Macedonian women filmmakers as panelists: Teona Srugar Mitevska (director), Marija Djidjeva (director), Elena Stanisheva (producer), Marija Dimitrova (producer) and Marija Apchevska (director). The discussion was followed by a cocktail and a screening of the film “When the Day Had No Name” at cinema Millennium at 10 pm, directed by Teona Strugar Mitevska – Macedonian/Belgian/Slovakian co-production supported by Eurimages.
