"Before the rain" by Milcho Manchevski is a subject of a new book

Manchevski’s first film, BEFORE THE RAIN is the subject of a new book, "War Film on the Balkans: Milcho Manchevski’s 'Before the Rain' with the Aspect of Self-Exoticism" ("Kriegsfilm am Balkan: Milcho Manchevski 'Before the Rain' mit dem Aspekt des 'Selbstexotismus'").  The author, Sabine Bubits addresses the issue of guilt and atonement and the “eternal search for identity”, concluding that “BEFORE THE RAIN is not a film about the war, but it shows people in permanent conflict with life. It is the incessant return to the eternal themes, love and death.”
