2015 Skopje Film Festival Opens Tomorrow


The 18th edition of Skopje Film Festival will run April 17-24 and during the eight festival days the audience will get the chance to enjoy over 60 films from the latest production of world, European and Macedonian cinematography.

Several Macedonian co-productions will have its premieres as part of the festival program as well. “These Are the Rules” by Ognjen Svilicic, produced by Svetozar Ristovski, will have its Macedonian premiere on April 18 at cinema Millennium at 8 pm. The screening will be attended by the film director and screenwriter, Ognjen Svilicic, who will be the festival special guest star and will host one of the workshops titled “The Hero’s Journey”.

“Inferno" by Vinko Moderndorfer”  and “Judgement” by Stephan Komandarev, starring Miki Manojlovic will also have their premieres on April 20 and 21, respectively. The short film “Karma” by Vladimir Mitrevski will be featured as part of the festival’s closing ceremony.  

The young Macedonian actress Natasha Petrovic will appear in one of the roles in the premiere of the German – Australian co-production “Elixir”, directed by Brody Higgs. This year’s novelty is also the introduction of a programme of horror films titled “More than horror” that will feature four exceptional films. As part of its additional program the festival will also host several workshops and master classes. The film screenings will take place at cinema Millennium and the Cinematheque of Macedonia, and the festival is expected to be attended by a number of special quests.
