"The Man In The Habit Of Hitting Me On The Head With An Umbrella" Wins Best Short At SEE a Paris South - East European Film Festival


Vardan Tozija's "The Man in the habit of hitting me on the head with un umbrella" won Best SEE Short at the third edition of the SEE a Paris South –East European Film Festival which took place May 22 - 25 in Paris, France. The 4-day festival represents an exceptional event attempting to bring together all twelve South – East European countries by unifying their cultural heritage. The festival offers  a variety of programs, combining the fields of music, literature and film, with screenings taking place at two venues: the Cultural Centre L’Entrepot (that will also host the literary event "SEE a Paris - Paris a SEE") and the National Institute of Oriental Language and Civilizations – Paris (INALCO).

At the festival’s opening ceremony, the Macedonian actor Meto Jovanovski was awarded with the SEE Actor 2013 Award which was followed by a special screening of a film that sheds light on his artistic journey. The festival opened with the Montenegrin director Branko Baletic documentary “Njegosh” and the Croatian feature film “Nigh boats”, directed by Igor Mirkovic. The visitors also got a chance to enjoy a music concert by the extraordinary Macedonian band La Colonie Volvox.

The official festival program was divided into three sections of feature, documentary and short&animated films including recent Macedonian production: Ilija Cvetkovski (Dushan), Ibrahim Deari (Between Paradise and Hell), Goran Trencovski (Play and Save) and Dukagjin Borova (Everything is Money).
