“Secret Ingredient” with an audience award at the Thessaloniki Festival
The film “Secret Ingredient” by Macedonian director Gjorce Stavreski won the audience award as part of the Balkan Survey program at the Thessaloniki Film Festival.
This is the first prize awarded to a Macedonian film in the 58 years of the festival history and is the only award awarded in the Balkan Survey program.
“I am still under huge impression. It is my great pleasure at the moment because the audience's award showed me that the film that ran on the thin line between drama and comedy touched the international audience. They laughed at humor, were afraid for the main hero, cheered for a happy end. I had two wonderful screenings, and in a relaxed atmosphere I heard comments that showed me how close we are to cultures, especially pressed by our absurd Balkan troubles. I hope for a good reception with our audience.”said the director Gjorce Stavreski.
The “Secret Ingredient” in front of the Macedonian audience will be premiered at the closing ceremony of the Festival of European Film “Cinedays” in Skopje, on 19 November, after which, the film will be on the regular program of the Macedonian cinema.
