Short Film “Hairs” Awarded In Houston


The Macedonian short “Hairs”, written and directed by Eleonora Veninova, won the Gold Remi Award in the Suspense/Thriller Shorts category at the  47th edition of WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, taking place in Texas, USA.
WorldFest is the third oldest competitive film festival in the USA and the oldest independent Film& Video Festival in the world,  with thousands of entries received each year, out of which only 120 earn their place in the official competition.
This screening marks the film’s international premiere, following its Macedonian premiere at the International Cinematographers’ Film Festival “Manaki Brothers ”, and the screening at the Festival of European Film – CineDays. Last weekend, “Hairs” was also shown at the North Hollywood CineFest in Los Angeles, California.

The film centers on detective Wilde, who investigates the murder of a 7-year old girl, Camellia, with only one piece of pubic hair as solid evidence.

“Hairs” is produced by Partes Production, with Macedonian actress Irena Ristic and Serbian actor Bojan Zirovic in the main roles, alongside Sladjana Vujosevic, Marija Arsenkova and Trajce Crvenov. Producer of the film is Nebojsa Ilievski, with Dimo Popov as director of photography, music by Dejan Spasovik, set design by Filip Velkovski and Nikola Angelkovski, editing by Bosko Stolic and costimography by Verica Andreevska Spasovik.
