The Macedonian Film Agency Director, Ms. Mimi Gjorgoska Ilievska - member of the jury at the 14th edition of “Golden Apricot” International Film Festival



The Macedonian Film Agency Director, Ms. Mimi Gjorgoska Ilievska is member of the jury at the 14th edition of “Golden Apricot” International Film Festival, which is being held from July 9-16 in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.

Mimi Gjorgoska Ileveska is a member of the international jury in the documentary films competition composed of film industry representatives Eugene Corr (USA), Tom Fassaert (Netherlands), Michelangelo Messina (Italy) and Grigor Harutyunyan (Armenia). The Commission will award the Golden Apricot Award for Best Documentary Film and the Special Award "Silver Apricot".

Mimi Gjorgoska Ilievska will also take part in the Creative Europe Forum that will be held in the period from July 12-14 in organization of Yerevan Film Festival, the International Foundation LEA (Georgia) and the Public International Organization Internews (Ukraine). Panel discussions that are part of the forum will be held in three sessions to discuss the best ways and mechanisms for integration in the Creative Europe program, the models for supporting film productions and co-productions, including the funds they receive from the Creative Europe funding, with a focus on the financing and opportunities offered by the European Film Funds, where Mimi Gjorgoska Ilievska will be presenting the possibilities and ways of financing in Macedonia, the role of Eurimages as well as the right to refund of invested funds of foreign productions filming in Macedonia.

Apart from Gjorgoska Ilievska, the sessions will be attended by Muge Demir (representative from the Rotterdam Film Festival), Irena Strzalkovska (producer and national representative of Poland at Eurimage), Stefan Kitanov (producer and director of Sofia Film Festival), Kristina Balaban (representative from Documentary Institute in Prague), Dorina Oarga (representative from Transylvania Film Festival).

Among other things, Gjorgoska Ilievska will take part in the pitching program where six feature film projects from Armenia will be presented.

The film "Requiem for Ms J" directed by Bojan Vuletić will be screened within the official competition for feature films. The film is a minority coproduction between Serbia (SEE FILM PRO), Bulgaria (GEOPOLY FILM), Russian Federation (Non-stop Production), France (Surprise Alley) and Macedonia (Skopje Film Studio).

“Golden Apricot” Film Festival was established in 2004, and this year is held under the motto: "Crossroads of cultures and civilizations" expecting to screen over 200 films divided into different categories and hosting a great number of film professionals and over 300 accredited journalists from local and international media. Among previous guests of the festival are Marko Belokio, Wim Wenders, Claudia Cardinale, Fatih Akin, Nuri Bilge Jailan and many others.
