“The children will come” by Ana Jakimska won the best short film award at the Mequinenza Festival in Spain
The short fiction film “The children will come” by the director Ana Jakimska, won the main prize for the best short film at the Mequinenza International Film Festival in Spain.
The international jury of the festival emphasized the aesthetic quality of the film and the successfully built atmosphere, stemming from the story about the young teacher Velika, who is in a hopeless situation. The festival featured a total of 25 films from 17 different countries. In occasion of the award, the director Jakimska addressed the audience with a video message.
The film was previously nominated for the best short film at the prestigious Shanghai Film Festival, and was also screened at the official selection of film festivals in South Africa, Morocco, Italy, Montenegro, Albania and Kosovo.
